A satisfying combination of whiskey, fresh lemon juice, and syrup, this old-timey cocktail is one of the shining stars of the sours family. With its citrus-y tartness, sweetness and underlying current of rich, boozy warmth, the lemon whiskey sour is a delicious way to brighten up a dark winter night.

Recipe

 Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Bourbon whiskey

  • 125ml BWG Lemon Punch

  • 1 Tablespoon Maple syrup

Preparation:

  1. Half fill a cocktail shaker with ice. 

  2. Add all ingredients and shake well for 30 seconds. 

  3. Strain into a rocks glass over a few blocks of ice. 

  4. Garnish with an orange peel twist and a cocktail cherry stick. . 

 

Recipe Notes

It is recommended that you use Meyer lemons. They are a little sweeter and less acidic than their common grocery store cousins, and have a little more depth of flavor. A softer kind of lemoniness with a faint tangerine tang.

You could replace the maple syrup for a simple syrup made from home. Equal parts sugar and water heated in a saucepan on the stove, until the sugar has dissolved.
