Ginger Berry Fruit Smoothie

This luscious fruit smoothie is chock full of berries but has a definite spicy kick with the added fresh ginger. Very invigorating after a hard workout!

Ingredients:

  • 500ml BWG Ginger Punch

  • 1 Medium banana frozen or fresh

  • 1 Apple cored and quartered

  • 1 Cup frozen mixed berries

  • 2 Tablespoons flaxseed meal

  • 2 Cups frozen spinach (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Place all ingredients in blender and puree until smooth.

  2. Add ice until you've reached desired consistency. 

  3. Pour into two glasses and top with assorted berries for garnish.

What’s the best way to freeze bananas? Firstly, the riper they are, the more sweet they will be. Next, peel the bananas and cube them. Once completed, place into a freezer-safe, plastic bag, and save to use in smoothies, muffins, pancakes, and more.

By adding frozen fruit, there is no need to add ice. However, for a thicker consistency, you could add some ice.

You could give this recipe an extra spicy kick by adding a small amount of fresh ginger root.
